Siem Reap hotel and Guide info....

We are looking for a hotel in Siem Reap for 1 night. Our budget is flexible but probably around $50.... Any suggestions??

Also, after reading peoples responses from other posts on guides I think we would like to hire a guide and driver. I would appreciate any guide recommendations and contact information....

Thank you !!

I was very happy with my guide and used him on both my trips - Chhor Elit - [email protected]. He will arrange the driver. Do a search for hotels as loads of earlier posts.

We enjoyed our guide Saron. I've recommended him several times and everyone has been extremely pleased. (Soeun Saron) contact: [email protected]
He will pick you up at the airport, drive you to hotel the let you rest a bit and start your tour right away.

I followed Wanda's advice and hired Saroun the just last week. We communicated via email and he was delightful. Granted the rap at the wats is by rote, but he is charming and interesting and very accomodating. The gov't charges $20/day for guide and the same for driver. I'm certain that if you book through your hotel it will be more. We wanted to go to Banteay Srei and we all knew that that was $10 more to the driver. enjoy.

The prices are pretty standard. You may pay $25 for a car and driver, but no more (other than extra for Banteay Srei). I booked through my hotel and that's what I was charged.
