You will use SGD in SIngapore. You can bring US dollars to exchange or can use your ATM card.

I expect it will be difficult to find lodging for under $30 US. SIngapore is an expensive city. Perhaps someone here can refer you to a hostel listing. You might also ask on Thorntree.

Checking a wholesaler site the lowest wholesale prices out there are in the mid-$40 range. Meaning you could probablu find places starting around $50. I agree with checking the hostels.

ATMs are common in Singapore, so no need to bring cash to exchange - just use the ATM to get cash in SGD.

Check out www.hostelworld.com and www.hihostel.com probably the best sites for cheap accommodation
