Short Singapore Stay - Best Area?

Hi Team,

My wife and two children will be breaking up their transit to Australia (from Dubai) this July with a short 2-day stopover in Singapore. I won't be traveling with them antis trip as I have to work unfortunately.

Having never been there before, what area would you recommend as to where to stay? They will need to have easy access to either public transport or taxis (including to/from the airport). Any recommendations for family friendly hotels or areas to stay?
Also, any recommendations as must-do attractions with the kids (aged 11 and 8)?

Kind Regards

Singapore is rather small, as it is a city-state. There are always taxis available at the airport. You will have a surcharge if your drive is after midnight. The MRT is also readily available. But arriving after a long flight, it always feels good to be escorted into a taxi and whisked off to my hotel.

The one recommendation I have for location is to be very close to an MRT station. For that reason, I love the location of the Fairmont - right above an MRT station. But there are dozens of hotels with similarly good locations.

I expect the children will love the zoo and the famous night safari there, and perhaps the Jurong Bird Park as well.

Little India is the place for kids and for folks needing transport. Loads of chinese mainland tour groups at zoo, bird park, etc so to maximize your time and fun, LI is best.

Definitely. We found China Town quite interesting. LI had little appeal to us.

That is a direct quote from - https://www.visitsingapore.com/see-d...see/chinatown/ which seems to have a lot of useful info.
