Both the shop that Bob uses and the shop that I use sell loose stones and will do custom work. Either should be able to get you a good sapphire, orgy. It is true that emeralds are more fragile.

em, the jewelry store that Bob uses does mostly custom work. The SJ is huge, with display cases full of ready made jewelry. They also have zillions of loose stones if you ask. (You'll get a better price if you stay you were referred by a customer.) If you aren't particularly a jewelry buyer, you may be overwhelmed by the choice at SJ. I purchased ready made jewelry, I've had them do custom work for me, and I've purchased loose stones to have made up here in the US.

Kathie is SJ tha HUGE store that advertises on some free maps of bangkok..(lost my map).. is it on Rama 9.. ohh and they say they are the world biggest jewelry store.. if so I did buy some awsome tri gold earings for myself (male) a couple of years ago..
