Shoe etiquette entering temples in Thailand

You take off your shoes…..can you wear socks?
Can you put your shoes in a bag and take them with you?

Yes and yes.

Glad to hear that.
I have a hard time finding shoes that fit and the thought that my favorite travel shoes would go missing is difficult to think about. I can’t imagine shopping for shoes that fit in Asia.

Me too! My "travel shoes" are Keen Targhee 2 and I just found out that Keens are no longer importing to the UK - I guess I am staying at home from now on!!

The main place to be wary is at the Grand Palace which gets incredibly crowded. My wife came out of one of the temples there just in time to find a Chinese woman trying on her shoes!

Ugh, that story about your wife's shoes is nuts! Definitely makes me more comfortable knowing I can bring my shoes into temples with me.
