Shangri-la hotel Singapore, HELP PLEASE

Am wanting to book a couple of days here to just relax in December after a cruise (LOL) before flying home. Will be treating it as a resort - no sight seeing, having been to this lovely city many times , so just want to enjoy hotel facilities.
I am SO confused as to what room to choose.
Is Tower Wing Horizon Premier better than Garden Wing ? I know you have lounge access with the Horizon but after an all inclusive 3 week cruise the free drinks etc of the lounge won't be as welcome as usual.
Is city view preferable to pool view ?
From here we go to the Valley wing room and should it be again, city or pool view ?
With the Valley Wing are drinks etc. only available in the foyer champagne lounge or is there food , cocktails etc in another area?
We have a favourite hotel in Singapore but this forum has convinced us that the Shangri-La has the best pool and gardens in the city and we look forward to trying it out. Have had some good stays at the Bangkok Shangri-la.
Thanks for any comments / advise.
