Shanghai Tailor?

Hi,
Do men still get suits and shirts custom made in Shanghai? in Hong Kong? My son will be there this summer. He is tall and hard to fit and has to go directly to a wedding after the summer. I thought maybe this would be a chance to get a nice lightweight suit for a bit of a bargain? Or is that an out-dated idea? Thanks

I don't know a lot about custom tailoring in Shanghai, but custom tailoring in Hong Kong is now very expensive, though the workmanship at the good tailors is excellent. He should ask people at his workplace for a tailor recommendation.

For cheap ann affordable tailoring in Shanghai, he needs to go to the South Bund Fabric Market at 399,LuJiaBang lu.,corner of Nancang Jie (not far from Nanpu bridge).

South Bund F.M. tailors are raising its prices every year, the expat community in Shanghai and visitors like your son have provided plenty customers to the tailors. The more experienced are on the upper floors, one even has a TripAdvisor Recommended sign at the front of the stall.
