Shanghai Blog
My son and his wife are in Shanghai for two months. Here is their blog:
sethliz.blogspot.com Rest assured that their sensibilities are far different than mine. |
Oops. Apparently that blog has been blocked and their adventures can now be viewed at:
www.sethliz.typepad.com. There are some really good pictures and clips. |
thank god the son is not like the gpanda...he can chew gum and walk at the same time
He also chooses his friends more wisely.
Very cute blog. Great food stuff (you know how much I love that).
Your son looks nothing like you Andy. ;-) |
Kristina-in fact, he is my step-son, so no shared genetic material. By happenstance, he is also a math person, so we get along very well.
Aren't you and Beth going to Shanghai this year? Is this why you are going? Are you timing your visit to be there when they are there?
Just a coincidence. We booked our flights and a month later, Young Einstein accepted a teaching position for the summer at Shanghai University. They will be back in Ann Arbor by the time we go. I've told him and his wife that they are the advance scouts for our sojourn. My trip report will not be as comprehensive as his blog. Plus, how can I match the priceless videos?
How funny. Well, at least you'll have a whole list of things to see and places to eat.
You son and wife might want to buy an apartment and settle in Shanghai.
"Lotus Riverside apartment" in Minxing District is the perfect choice. The building can easily be accessible by Shanghai subway line 1 Xin Zhuang bound direction, get off at Lian Hua Rd. Station. Click below for more sales information: http://video.aol.co.uk/video-detail/...ina/3880321621 Tell your son and his wife to bring parachutes when they move in. |
The University is providing housing. Pictures of the apartment are included on the blog.
They're much more likely to dance their way to safety.

Yay, the panda connection has got me emailing with your son, you can get my address from him if you like. They are going to Suzhou this weekend, and they have tips on my fav eateries in Shanghai.
thanks so much for sharing your trip! We can't wait to go! Hsieh Hsieh!
Just talked to the young jenius this morning. Unbelievably enough, he didn't want to talk about a given topic because he was going to put it on his blog and he didn't want to ruin the surprise. Am I old or does this seem a bit strange? Or both?
Send your topics to me, I'm of your generation, not old just wiser, your DS in like my DD, needs to be handled like little pandas.
Shanghainese, I will. The specific topic concerned an activity of his. I just found his reluctance to talk about it odd. Of course, i pointed this out to him and broke him down. Odd, nonetheless.
Apparently, his wife's increasing ability to speak Chinese (it may be Shanghainese) is helping with their interactions. She's taking a daily Chinese course. |
Daily course? We usually get 5 courses when we're doing Chinese.
