Shabu in Tokyo??

Does anyone have any recommendations for a shabu shabu restaurant in Tokyo? I would prefer something not real expensive but it can be moderate. thanks.

I've always visited Seryna or Mon Cher Ton Ton in Tokyo for Shabu Shabu and Tepenyaki dinners. They have a few branch around Tokyo and here's a link to their web site:

There should be so many choice of shabu-shabu restaurants in Tokyo. Just be careful. While "shabu-shabu" is a food, "shabu" as you put on the title is a Yakuza and drug dealers' slang meaning sorts of addictive drugs. If you ask eg, at your hotel reception about "shabu restaurant", there should be no mistaking it with drug though, they will just ask back "shabu-shabu restaurant?"

thanks so much for the replies and the advise. About Seryna, I thought that restaurant was very expensive?

Seryna is expensive for dinner, moderately expensive for lunch. You can see the menu and prices on the link Hanuman gave.

There are loads of shabu shabu restaurants...you just have to know how to recognize them. You could ask in your hotel for starters, stating your per person budget for the meal. There are also lots of free advertising magazines, some of which will be in your hotel (in all likelihood), that you can look through. Many places offer all you can eat courses for under 5000 yen per person at dinner including beer, wine or soft drinks (also all you drink)...you get either 90 or 120 minutes to stuff and drink yourself silly...depends on the restaurant. Genkaya is just one place that has this kind of deal.

Check out the Tokyo Weekender and http://www.bento.com/tf-rest.html for a start. http://www.bento.com/search4.php is a list of shabu shabu places...lots of them.
