Seeking 'boutique' hotel recommendation in KhaoSan Rd area...

Hi all -
We usually stay at the Hilton, but at times enjoy some of Thailand's amazing boutique hotels.
On our upcoming trip to BKK I want to stay in the KhaoSan Rd area.
Looking for amazing and highly recommended hotel, less than $100/night.
I love the hotels with Thai charm and style.... Any thoughts?

Is Old Bangkok Inn close enough to KSR for you? It's a bit quirky, but It has gotten good reviews here.

not exactly the boutique area---think backpacker central

yeah, I know it's Backpacker central, but we love that area :)
I've walked into KhaoSan small hotel lobbies on past trips and would absolutely love to stay by a "higher end" recommended one.... Any leads?
Oh - and when I saw KhaoSan, I mean literally walking distance to the main drag.

If you can't find exactly what you want but still want to stay in the Khao San area, then I can recommend the New Siam Riverside.

It's by Pier 13 for the river ferry. Several balcony rooms directly overlook the river, swimming pool overlooks the river, outside restaurant overlooks the river, excellent buffet breakfast included. Loads of eateries/bars in shouting distance as is Khao San.

Fits your budget nicely
