Seeking Beijing AIrport Transfer Recommendations

About 10 days to go before I leave :) I am looking for recommendations for reliable but not terribly expensive transportation from Beijing airport to my hotel, the Holiday Inn Central Plaza, and back to the airport for my departure. I arrive around noon time and will return to the airport in the morning. How much would I expect to pay a Taxi?, or is a shared ride shuttle service better, or even available? Your thoughts please .....

A taxi ride will cost you approximately 100 RMB ...

It cost 130yuan,more or less, your hotel is south-west of the city.

Yongdelen and Violet are both spammers, the former pushing dodgy tour services and the latter her guide services (or those of her partner).

It must be pointed out that information on transport into Beijing from the airport is widely available in guide books and on the Internet.

There are several different airport bus services well signposted in the airport, with ticket counters in the arrival halls. These get you into town for ¥16. There you can board a taxi to reach your destination for probably under ¥20. The line to Xi Dan is your best choice. There's a list of other options here:

Better still take the airport express line (equally well signposted) for ¥25 and connect to the rest of the metro system for ¥2 anywhere. Even Wikipedia is unusually accurate on this option, with a map of currently open metro lines:

US$156 (over ¥1000) per person from the rip-off artists above? I don't think so.

My recollection from April, 2006 is that there was an organized taxi line and someone directing and controlling its use. They will put you in a legitimate metered taxi and I believe we paid about $10 or $12 US to reach our hotel. You certainly do not want to use anyone who approaches you with a "deal".
As for using the bus service or other means of transportaion suggested by Peter N_H (the China Maven), you may save some money but I, for one, prefer the convenience of having a taxi take me directly to my hotel and being able to settle in as quickly as possible.
In any event, have a great rip.
