sawadee booking krabi

Just looking for some advice regarding a booking I made with sawadee for the Andaman Resort in Krabi. I emailed them to ask if they had availability for 7 nights in November and asked for a price as the web page did not give any prices for November. On 24.07.06 they confirmed availability at the price of 1400 bhat which was the price advertised for Oct. They asked for the usual i night deposit which I paid the following day. On 25.07.06 they confirmed the receipt of payment and the booking for the quoted price of 1400 bhat.

Now they have emailed to say the price was a mistake and it should be 2850bhat per night. I have of course replied that they quoted 1400 bhat and have confirmed the booking on the basis of the cheaper price, whilst I accept it is a mistake they should honour the price they quoted and accepted the booking on.

What do you think the chances are?

one big mistake....this is thailand and they will probably not honor something made or quoted by mistake...

none of their hotels prices are listed for after oct 31....

they have told me that they intend to post them in september...

my guess is that you are out of luck...did they charge your card?? if so then you may have a bargaining point....i would call them on the telephone...

Thanks for your response, I don't suppose you happen to have the telephone number for them. I have looked on the email and the web page and can't see a telephone number. i am probably missing the obvious.

They have charged my credit card for 1 night at 1400baht which was the original quote. Do you know if the credit card provides any protection for this?

I know I will probably have to pay the increased rate but I am a bit miffed about it.

Thanks in advance for any advice you can provide

Thanks ever so much, I will give them a ring. I don't hold out much hope but I will let you know how I get on. At the end of the day, my friend and I liked the look of this hotel and decided we would like to stay there so we will end up paying what they have asked. I just don't like to give up easily

Somebody probably just made a simple mistake, 1,400 for high season Krabi would be incredibly low, sounds like a low season price, if you like the place and the rate is fair I would relax and look forward to your trip.

Just wanted to thank you for your help and to let you know that following numerous e mails, Sawadee have agreed to offer a a slight reduction in there revised price of 2835.

James, I know the original quote was probably a mistake and at the end of the day we would have paid it cause we do want to stay there. I am just a bit sad like that in that I argued the toss and got a result.
