Sakura - cherry blossom in November?
http://www.asahi.com/photonews/NGY201011170001.html
For sakura lovers, just found this online news dated today about "shiki - zakura" (4-season sakura). It says about 8500 trees of this kind in Ohara district , Toyota-shi, Aichi-ken that are actually in full bloom surrounded by momiji - autumn red leaves also at their peak. Shiki - zakura blooms mostly in autumn/winter and some leftover buds bloom in spring. I did not known such kind existed. Anyone lucky enough to be there now? Admiring sakura and momiji at the same time, same place would really be an unusual experience. |
Wish I was there...what a gorgeous photo!

That is amazing and wonderful, indeed!

Hai kappa-san, kirei! Domo for posting this.
Wish we were there now but will be there in about a week.....too late for the zakura viewing but looks like we may see the koyo at Kiyomizudera if luck holds out. Here is more info for those of us who cannot read Japanese about the winter cherries also found in Gunma. http://www.japan-guide.com/blog/koyo...akurayama.html Aloha! |
Aloha HL-san,
