My husband and I are researching a trip to Vietnam for December. <BR><BR>Any suggesions on a nice, centrally located hotel in Saigon.<BR><BR>Any rating on Ana Mandara Resort--Nha Trang?<BR>Or another hotel in Nha Trang?<BR>Thank you,<BR>Barbara

I was in Saigon for 4 days last week. I stayed in the Hotel Continental. It is a hotel that was built in about 1880 and has recently been refurbished. It was very comfortable - was a 3 star establishment. Location was excellent as it opened on to an open square in the middle of town and was very close to restaurants/bars/shopping. While there I checked out the Delta Caravelle - this is a 5 star hotel, much nicer than Continental, location was close, price much higher. There are several other western hotels on the river (Sheraton or Marriott I think) which is about 1/2 mile from donntown. I hope this helps - have fun!

I stayed at the Grand last year which is farther down near the Saigon River-very French in architecture. The Majestice is also a good one. Ate at the Lemon Grass, Ba Mien,top of Rex Hotel, Paloma Cafe, dinner on top of Majestic Hotel. Any of these places are good. Also a good Italian restaurant in the area but not sure of its name. All of these restaurants are near the Majestic and the Grand Hotels.<BR>I am going to Nha Trang this year,but I cannot suggest a hotel. This wil be my 3rd year to go to Vietnam. You will love the people and the country.

There are plenty of restaurants, bars and shopping on the main street. Vietnamese restaurant called An Nam (I think) was very good. Hard to go wrong in that area. I found the Benh Tan market (central) and Bin Tay market(Cholon) a bit &quot;junky&quot; but they're certainly worth a look for the experience.<BR><BR>Mark
