saigon and ko samui - 10 days
 

This will be my first trip to asia. I have 10 days and will arrive in saigon. I'd like to see temples and nice beaches. I can either stay in vietnam or considering going to ko samui..

Are there ferries/flights that to from saigon to ko samui?

To get to Koh Samui from HCMC will require a flight to Bangkok, then a flight (rather expensive) from bangkok to Koh Samui. There are beaches in VN. Why not stay there?

with only 10 days, i would plan to spend the whole time in vietnam...they have good beaches too...

Not sure what your budget is, but if you will already be in Vietnam I highly recommend the Evason Hideaway at Nha Trang....it was really great, with private pool villas right on a gorgeous totally seculded beach. Best rates I found were on vietnamstay.com
I would also recommend finding time during your 10 days for a stop in Hanoi...a really charming city.
