Ryokan in Nikko (Not Too Expensive)

We've nailed down our itinerary for our 7 day trip to Tokyo, we'll spend the first 3 nights in Tokyo, two in Nikko, then back to Tokyo for the last 2 (DH has a conference). Would love to hear suggestions for not too expensive ryokan in Nikko. Our budget is pretty slim, we've looked at the turtle inn and I'd be grateful for any opinions or suggestions. Thanks, Lissa

We have stayed at Senhime Monogatari and loved it. Don't know if it is too much for you as you don't mention your budget

Hi Hawaiiantraveler, I saw Senhime Montogatari, it looks spectacular but a bit out of our price range. We'd really like to not go above 12500 Yen per night if possible.

Nikko Inn looks at bit different, Can anyone give any opinions on the turtle inn. Is it clean and reasonable? Any thoughts or experiences of their Japanese style rooms? Is it accessible by transport as dinner isn't included on one of our nights.

If anyone has anything I'd love to hear. Thanks, Lissa :)
