We will be flying from Tokyo to Sapporo.Do the "liquids in a quart bag" rule apply for carry on luggage?Thank you so much.

I don't know but if you go to the website of the airline you will be using they most likely will describe how they handle this issue.

I don't know about the rules there now, but before the more recent crackdown on liquids, upon leaving NRT for JFK I had two or three bottles of water and the security people acted sort of strange although they let me take them on.

I flew JAL domestically earlier this year, but there was no restriction on liquid in carry on luggage. (As I do distinctly remember bringing a bottle of sake onboard). Only prohibition on sharp/inflammable/dangerous objects. Though you should probably check the airlines' website directly.

Yes, we also flew domestic in April '08 and they did not do the liquids in a quart bag thing. As W9 says they were only looking for sharps and such.

When leaving Japan thru Narita and KIX the liquids in a quart bag rule applied
