Rose Garden or Tiger Temple

Any opinions on which is better to combine with the Floating Market trip?

The rose garden (which I saw more than twenty years ago) is a total tourist trap. I would not recommend it.

Whether or not to go to the Tiger Temple is an issue of some contraversy. Do a search on Tiger Temple and you'll find a number of posts about whether the tigers and other animals there are being maltreated.

I've read much of the controversy regarding the Tiger Temple and was not leery about doing it anyway given the safety factor. Do you recommend combining the Floating Market with any other side trips besides the rose garden or tiger temple? We had considered a possible bicycle tour of the surrounding area. Any other suggestions?

The Tiger Temple was one of the highlights of my trip to Thailand.

I am aware of the dissenting opinions but the memory of sitting amidst those wonderful creatures will stay with me forever.

I was more scared of the buffaloes--those horns.

The Tiger Temple was one of our favorite places. We used pictures of us and the tigers on our Christmas cards the following year. Then the next time we were in BKK we went back to the TT and enjoyed it just as much. The second time we played with the cubs in the new housing area.

We asked Tong to take us back there on our 2009 trip, but she suggested an "open zoo" which she thinks is another experience given our love of the animals. I can't remember the name.

We haven't been to the Rose Garden, but are thinking about it for this year. Tong also says it is touristy, but we have already been to so much of the surrounding area that we may just take the chance. We'll see what else comes up.

Whichever you choose, I am sure that you will enjoy the "Thailand experience."

We managed less than 1 hour at the Rose garden and could never recommend it. It was awful!! We couldn't wait to get out of the place. Complete waste of time.

I very much like your idea of a bicycle tour to tie in with your day. Definitely the most appealing option to me.

We haven't visited the Tiger Temple, so can't offer an opinion on that.
