Riverview Lodge & Palm Sprngs Lodge, Chiang Mai
Has anyone stayed at either of these hotels? Any feedback incl how the location is from the perspective of closeness to center of town will be very helpful. Trying to choose. Thanks.

We stayed at the Riverview Lodge and liked it. The rooms are pretty basic and at night the bars across the river were a little loud but the a/c drowned them out. They have a nice garden overlooking the river. It's a short walk from the night market.

Hi Sameera. Had 4 nts at Riverview in July-greedy owners with little respect for their guests. Try Tamarind Village. Looks gorgeous. Would not recommend the Riverview lodge-noisy, rooms very small, furniture and bed uncomfortable, guests treated like they do not matter in the slightest-sick of this cra- from hoteliers. Have a good time wherever you go. Happy Xmas.

We stayed at the Palm Springs Lodge and loved it. It is farther out of town, about 5 - 10 minutes by tuk tuk, but it was such a lovely hotel we forgave them. The rooms are nicely done; a bit on the basic side, but with white stucco walls and nice bathroom (and kitchen in our room). We found it to be a charming, peaceful hotel, and would stay there again.

We stayed at the Riverview last year. I liked it but my husband did not -- we didn't have hot water on day one and the room was very basic. I liked it because it was conveniently located -- short walk into town, night market. The couple that own/run the place were nice, the breakfast was great, the garden was pleasant. It was relatively inexpensive too. The noise from across the river did not bother us. We did come across the Tamarind Village which was beautiful in the old town area.

Hope that helps.
