Riverside Restaurant recommendations?
 

I'll be in BKK next month, and would like to go somewhere special for dinner, on the river. We will be staying at the Peninsula, and ate twice at the Oriental restaurants on our last visit, so I"m looking for suggestions other than these locations. It doesn't have to be as fancy as the O. or Penn., but I want exceptional food and a good atmosphere.
What do you recommend?

Thara Thong, at the Royal Orchid Sheraton, has excellent Thai food. There is both indoor dining and a few outdoor tables overlooking the river. It has a lovely ambiance, one of the prettiest Thai restaurants in the city, IMO.

A friend who was temporarily stationed in BKK also recommended Thara Thong, thanks for that suggestion,and welcome home!

Suppatra River House is also very nice.

bkkmei - I just looked up Supatra River House, it looks perfect! Thanks for the suggestion..

There is also the restaurant at the ArunResidence which someone mentioned recently. Seems very nice - directly opposite Wat Arun. It appears that the website is out of commission right now though.
