River Cruise
I am beginning the planning process for a trip to Southest Asia in the summer of 2008 (yes, I know it is the rainy season but we are educators so that's the only time we can go). I had read an article in either one of my travel magazines or in the Chicago Tribune travel section about a small boat river cruise somewhere in Vietnam, Laos or Cambodia. It was a 3-4 night trip on a small boat that holds maybe 20 people. It sounded very much like the boat we were on in Brazil on the Amazon and I would love to find out more about it. Does anyone have any idea what I cam refering to? I will probably be frequenting this forum over the next eyar or so. I did that for Africa and for Australia/New Zealand and found it very helpful.

It may be the Pandaw Mekong cruise you read about. Do a search here for a nice report on it. You can also google pandaw cruises for more info. It's rather pricey, but sounds just wonderful!

Thanks. I sort of recall that the price was pretty reasonable, but maybe not. I'll try googling it.

Just received this today: http://valuecruises.net/
The reason it was sent is to announce the new Magical Laos itinerary. |
I notice that this company advertises the Pandaw cruises on the Mekong as well as a Laos cruise.
|
Yes, they do cruises in many Asian locales and world-wide and have for years. I receive emails from the every so often. The reason for the email today though, was to announce the new itinerary.

I did the Pandaw cruise from the Mekong Delta 750km to Siem Reap. It was outstanding, and when I wrote about it for a travel magazine the editor was a bit peeved that I had no criticism. But I didn't!. It was brilliant in every possible way. Email me if you want personal opinion. I have a report here:
