Lets get this straight - the khao lak tailor confused or couldnt rememeber Bob's shorts, that he made just a few days ago, because so many other Farangs his size also just had a bunch of custom shorts made?

Bob, when you ask for that Starwood credit dont forget to ask for points for all that shaking in the room. No, not from the neighbors, from the earthquake.

And, if I were a betting man, I would bet that poor GM will pay a boatload of points just to get you to check out already.....

i sent him a letter this AM with a thank you and a points request... lets see what happens..

i just had a nice swim and lunch at the pool with the girls... spicy chicken roll up and raspberry smoothie for me and K--she had mango smoothie... fried spring rolls for P and her banana smoothie.

swim was fantastic, water fab and from the infinite edge a great look toward the beach and sea thru the pine shaded grassy area, which andy loved sooo much. Only thing missing was his elephant friend RaRa. We may leave a tiny bit of Andy here tomorrow before we leave.

The program for this afternoon is a ride over to Carol's favorite place the enclave called Ao Nang. No agenda, just a bit of exploring.

We have a res for dinner tonight at the Italian restaurant at 7. We were a bit disappointed by the Indian food last night although the setting was lovely.

Dinner last night:

palak paneer (spinach and home made cheese)--lacked any pizzazz. K's fav.
expensive tandoor giant shrimp-good 980B
chicken korma- blah
saffron rice-very good
chicken tikka
dal bukkara--good
plain and butter naan-fair

I had 2 singhas and the girls each had a wine tasting---3 whites for K, and 3 reds for P--330 each flight/ 1/2 glass each--quite reasonable--French, Italian and Australia.

Is tonight Pat's turn to use her credit or did she buy jewelry at the store instead? ;)

GM was at the restaurant when we arrived and greeted us but made no comment about my letter... the tension grows. he served us our 1st course in fact. He stayed through most of our meal.

peter, we have spent about 14,000 0f our 20,000. Pat may have a massage in the AM and we may have lunch before we leave.

Aside from the problems discussed above this is a lovely hotel with fabulous expansive grounds and a decent waterfront. All of our problems have been made right, which afterall is the sign of a good organization.

Dinner:

Sorry your Indian food was suboptimal. It's my favorite cuisine. Were the cooks Indonesian or Indian?

tac---we check out in tne next few hours.. decisions are being made..

after lunch we will drive back to phuket to the renaissance hotel near the JW Marriott for an overnight before flying the next AM back to bkk, meeting beth and maureen at the airport and then flying to udon thani in issan.

Maybe Regent? Can't recall name... I'll have to look it up. Journals are not handy right now.

well we have left the sheraton.. my total bill was only $15. and pat's was zero, although she pre-paid plenty..

no response to my letter to the GM... interesting.. maybe he felt i was being greedy--- and he may be right.

Bob the tailor saga is still on, no buttons ready tonight but they I will have them tomorrow, went to eat at candles tonight, just love it, will keep you posted.

Is anyone else wondering how it is that Bob spends days at a Thai beach resort and leaves with more money and more miles than when he arrived?

We hear the poor GM has asked for a week off. To recover from Bob's visit.

in fact his staff should do their jobs right in the first place... reminds me of the way the obama administration worked the last 4 years... with new blood i hope he gets some good people finally (mrs clinton did fine).

Hmmmm ....... GM may be friend of Obama, trying to reduce deficit with points. Maybe Bob has stumbled upon solution to falling off the fiscal cliff.

Should probably demand to see GM's birth certificate & college transcript.
