rhk's africa story

our trip report is nearly complete on the africa board for anyone interested, including a couple of fodors mini GTG's

Gpanda Nov 3rd, 2009 02:00 AM

He's back and he's jet lagged. Nothing else would have gotten him up so early. Our days of freedom are over.

kmkrnn Nov 3rd, 2009 02:28 AM

perhaps you need a geography lesson sir.... england is in a different time zone

Gpanda Nov 3rd, 2009 08:10 AM

If you're in England, then someone has foolishly provided you with internet access. I guess the restraining order does not apply outside the US.

What a year you are having, Bob and Karen! Spectacular!

Not sure which day you are due back in the Commonwealth but here are a few words of welcome. It is election day here in Boston, with Menino trying for his 5th term. It's a sunny 52 degrees now but supposed to dip below freezing by Friday. Anything is bearable if you are repacking for SEA though...

bookchick Nov 4th, 2009 03:15 AM

They're returning today and will be back in MA only 9 days prior to going back to SEA with Panda and Mrs. Panda. Apparently Panda is "the goodwill ambassador" who will set diplomatic relations with the USA back a good 5 centuries or so. (And yes, I realize the USA didn't exist as a nation that long ago.)

Pandas have excellent relations with all nations. Essentially, we are the universal logo of peace and comfort. Bob on the other hand... I will endeavor to keep his international damage to a minimum.

rhkkmk Nov 4th, 2009 06:47 PM

we are home safe and sound....plane only 1/2 full so that is especially nice....now we have to face panda for dinner this weekend, so he can tell me how he has organized the whole asia trip for us....;

Gpanda Nov 5th, 2009 02:18 AM

At dinner, we're going to have to endure the ridiculous details that were left out of the endless SA trip report. Wait until he finds out that he's goind to BKK through Buenos Aires.

bookchick Nov 5th, 2009 04:55 AM

Panda, my guess is that you're statistically more likely to be thrown through a window in brightest Needham than Bob is to go to BKK via Buenos Aires.

we look forward to yet another dinner with panda... the best thing is that they end at about 7 (the time most people start thinking about dinner) as he needs to get his pj's on

hawaiiantraveler Nov 5th, 2009 12:38 PM

Food for thought and dinner. I wonder if Bob has ever seen the real Panda in action.......a panic attack is quite a sight!
