Tong is a she in BKK, not VN. A great travel guide at that...used and loved by many Fodorites. If you want to use her reserve well in advance. We contacted her over a year ago for our dates.

HT..sorry your father "unpassed".. we could have used the money for our summer adventure.

Thanks all for the well wishes. We are looking forward to the trip, esp the Vietnam part, and showing our newbies the BKK/Thailand we love so much.

I hope you had the decency to put them back in the cemetery from which you stole them.

Looking forward to hearing all about it.
In Hanoi, try and eat at the famous Bun Cha Dac Kim, #1 Hang Menh St, Hanoi. It's right in between Yen Thai and Hang Non street. I would go back to Hanoi just to eat there.

Gee Bob, I really think Alaska Air should put you and K up front to compensate you for the stress of having your seat assignments changed without telling you.

Seriously, I hope it all works out - I really hate it when that happens...

Rizzuto - lol

We are looking forward to meeting up with you! And seriously - Morocco in March/April of next year? This is our next trip! Bodes well for discussion and a possible GTG!

Have a great trip. I can't remember whether you are Chote Chitr fans or not, but if you haven't tried it on your many trips to BKK, I think you should give it a try. The mie grob (or however you spell it) and other dishes were delish!

Sure! He wants us to think that Karen didn't call the airlines so she wouldn't have to sit with Bob.

Rizzuto-you think he paid for shipping the flowers? Unlikely.

Have a great time. This time we expect a timely report, photos, and recipes. The secrets of a good summer roll and a piping hot Pho would be appreciated.

Have a good trip. At least they only canceled the seat assignments, not the tickets!

Bob & Karen,
Have a wonderful time and hope you post some photos. Guess I missed a great buying opportunity because I never even looked at shoes in Vietnam!

Karen's seat switching plans are working. Now, if she could just figure out how to get different flights, I would be impressed, but not surprised.
