Joyce and Don - actually Labor Day weekend might work - I spoke to the "boss". Look for an e-mail to you with ideas. For others near Connecticut, we will start a new post with an announcement with details.

mrwunrfl,

The "turf club" only exist on the alternate Sundays when the Royal Bangkok Sports Club transformed into the Royal Turf Club for horse racing(and gambling). It is partially open to the public on "racing" Sundays but the general public only only has access to the spectator's grandstand and not into the other areas of the club.

What happened to Bob's original link to his pictures?

Gpanda...Oh, well. I guess I'm missing a lot of this report and future additions. I'm just too busy to go through it all to catch up. Happy Travels!

Hanuman-do they ever play poker there? Is there any poker in BKK?

G-he just will not follow suggestions. Try organizing a GTG with him. The patience of Panda!

Andy,

They do play a lot of Bridge at the sister's club - The RBSC Polo Club. I don't believe there are any organized Poker playing at the clubs.

H-thanks. I haven't played much bridge since college, back in the 1800's. It's much tougher to bluff in bridge.

Hi Bob and Karen,
hope you guys are still ok, because there was no report during the last few days.
Nice to meet you in Hua Hin after I could attend the GTG at RBSC just for a few minutes. Alas there are still a few stupid cab drivers in Bangkok.
Just found out that you are going to stay at the Santrian in Sanur. Believe it or not I stayed at that marvelous place during my one and only visit to Bali in 1975. Couldnt believe its still existing. It was really like a fairy-tale with small balinese style bungalows, surrounded by green and flowers.
The opposite was the quite lousy beach, the annoying vendors and plenty of drunk ozzies.
By the way, today I went with my new flame, her sister and daughter to a really nice restaurant in Paknampran. Situated right at the beach, nice seating with green and palm trees around and really good food. At least much better than last week in HH. And not so costly at all. A big fried fish, tom yam taley, shrimp steamboat, big plate of spicy thai salad, large leo beer and some water just came up to 650 Baht. The place is called Tontoresort or Chatelet Hua Hin-Pranburi.Anybody know it so far?

Mercifully, his Bobness has been quiet. We all benefit therefrom.
