What a story with the ff tickets! We have generally ended up using American and have had very good luck with them. I was able to get our tickets to BKK through them with only $40 each in taxes! We are on Japan Airlines - my only complaint being that it is a 747 which I don't like because I get stuck in a middle seat since there are 3 seats along the windows . Oh well.

We are looking forward to meeting up with you at the Marriot in BKK. And since you'll be at the end of your trip we can hear all about it !

Safe Flight!

TWO MONTHS......are you sure you weren't a lawyer before retirement. Those are the only people I know who can afford that style and length of travel, lol

Have fun, I know you and Karen will. I am especially looking forward to your return to Bali and ensuing trip report as it is on our radar, maybe 2009.

Aloha!

Hey Bob, thanks for the info on the Japan 747's. Now I need to double check our seats and make sure we have ones that recline. I had trouble finding what I needed on seat guru when I was booking the flight.

Uggh - just checked and it's a 744 (I've never even heard of that) and it's a 3-5-3 configuration. Oh well. We'll just have to deal with it. A little discomfort is a small price to pay to head to Thailand !

744 is shorthand for a 747-400.

Wow - looks like a great trip - hope you and Karen have a wonderful time, and I'll look forward to all the trip reports.

I would also be up for a Hartford GTG - easy enough for me to come down from VT, & I would love to see Joyce & Don again!

Bob and Karen.....we look forward to meeting you in Krabi! It will be fun sharing our 1st trip to Thailand with you in person! Have a great time in Bali. We will want to hear all about it. That was our daughter's 1st choice for this family trip. See you on June 14th.

Karin-be careful what you wish for, it may come true. I can assure you that Bob in person is not the same. Instead of being able to skim his senseless posts, you're stuck listening in real time. I'm sure it's not true, but it seems like time moves backwards.
