Have a geat time !
I hope you to a trip report, would be great to look at Florida from 'our' perspective for a trip, costs, getting around like Ft Myers to Orlando. We will have to get around to it sometime !
Visiting Florida from an Asia perspective !
Whenever I glance at the hotels and resorts, car rental etc they always look a 'bargain' to me. If 30 Baht gets buys us a dollar......

Have a good trip Bob! I love Florida and I've bought 2 boats from there. My most memorable occasion there was when I was driving my rental car and strayed from Coconut Grove by about 2 blocks. I stop by a police car to ask for direction to Biscayne and I was given a police escort! They were afraid that I would get shot but hey I felt like a VIP!

Hey Bob, I thought you said you were going to be in Fort Meyers. We're in Naples today and it barely got to 60! Oh well - better than what we would have at home in Chicago which is subzero right now. Back to that tomorrow . Go Patriots! (you can take the girl out of New England, but you can't take the New England out of the girl).

Hi Bob and Karen,
Have a great time. Sorry I haven't posted to this forum for a while but we decided to go to Hawaii (where we are now ;-) ) instead of a return to Thailand this Jan/Feb. We try our darndest to get out of Chicago in Nov Jan and Feb and usually spend 4 plus weeks with Marriott in Florida during November. We have found the Gulf Coast to be very hospitable during the colder off months in the "North"
As much as we are thoroughly enjoying our 4 plus weeks in Hawaii (at Marriott timeshares no less), I'm already planning for 09 for us to again return to wonderful Thailand. Have not been keeping up with the exchange rate though and am a bit sad to hear the Bhat is around 30 - $ gosh it could make those on the beach massages cost $12 instead of $8!
Thanks for all your help with our trip to Thailand last year. Enjoy the nice weather.
Aloha from Kaua'i
Sue

Amen to that! It was so nice when we left for the airport this morning. Already up to 70 and sunny. Fortunately the cold snap for Chicago broke and it was 26 when we landed. But it's snowing now - yuck. With a little luck in four years we will do like you are doing Sue and get out of Chicago in Jan and Feb. Probably head to Florida, though, rather than Hawaii - although that sounds nice too!
