Glad you made it safely. I was thinking of you two early this morning and wondering about where you might be around now. Have a ball! Happy Travels!

Bob, glad you and Karen are having fun. Keep the reports coming. Laurie

Bob, It sounds like you and Karen are having a great time. I look forward to your full report.

Apropos of Bob's comment on India's roads: they are a disgrace, really. And the complete lack of driving culture appalling. The sorry situation concerning Indian infrastructure has not come about on account of lack of money. Corruption, greed, an utter disregard for civic norms and a lack of desire for excellence characterise India's polity today. (GPanda, please note that I am an Indian, not an American carpetbagger).

Gpanda Nov 22nd, 2006 04:57 PM

Agtou-perhaps India needs a profit-driven oil industry and car manufacturers like the US to obtain better roads. We merely institutionalize our greed and corruption.

All carpetbaggers are not American.

Bob, I had just been wondering how you and Karen are doing. Haven't you been out of America almost a month now? I'm sorry, but I don't think GPanda is leaving even temporarily for Canada, so I'm afraid you WILL have to return here and face his...wit..uh..sarcasm...biting humor? Political dysentery? (That's what happens when dissent merges with commentary!) Anyway, happy travels, be safe, and keep reporting in and ingnoring GPanda...we all know he's just jealous anyway! IndyTravel just e-mailed me today that he's leaving for a CLE class in Tours, France, and has permission from his employer to be gone the remainder of the calendar year! I've gotta get out of this book gig and get something like that!

Best wishes,
BC

I am very sorry but there has been an embargo on Pandas entering Canada.

Especially thong-wearing, leftwing- spouting, lawyerly types!!!!

It has something to do with beaver's being allergic to Pandas.

Mirasia Nov 23rd, 2006 05:12 PM

Glad you and Karen are having a great time. I am sure once I read your report I will have to visit India too! Looking forward to hearing more.
Sorry we didn't join you for Crepes, as it was we were too tired to go anywhere and just ended up staying at the hotel.

Gpanda Nov 24th, 2006 12:12 AM

Rob-correct me if I'm wrong, but Beavers are definitely not the symbol of an international conservation group(World Wildlife Federation), Pandas are. Perhaps Beavers could represent Orthodontists?

robmac Nov 24th, 2006 03:48 AM

Andy

Please do not denigrate Beavers anymore or I will sic my pet Haggis on you!!

You've got me laughing! Ha ha ha... Thanks for the chuckle, and I hope everyone had a lovely Thanksgiving. I don't suppose the folks in BKK had any turkey???

Can't wait to hear about the food situation. We have your BKK food list. Both our daughter and son have travelled India but both, in spite of taking great care got quite sick. India is a country I really would love to visit (and I adore Indian food) but due to concerns that a food/water induced episode might re ignite a health problem I've kind of held back from going. I'm sure you will give a complete and full update upon your return. In the meantime, have lots and lots of fun.
We are on the last two days of 5 weeks in Florida, I go to Berlin next week (business) then Jan 5th, off to Thailand for 5 whole weeks. Any new and interesting BKK or Hua Hin tips appreciated.

Bob and Karen,

So glad you are having such a great time in my favorite country to visit. So glad my tips worked out for you--I'm flattered since you are the great tipsters :-)

Can't wait to have lunch when you are back stateside. Bob, you are going to look smashing in one of those chiken shirts :-)

Safe and fun travels,

Patricia

How did you arrange for your wonderful driver? We are hoping to get a train Delhi to Agra but will need a driver from Agra to Jaipur. You mentioned Castle and King --- is that an agency? Namaste, Kathleen
