Welcome back Bob!

Kathie is confessing already?

LA_FadeAway May 18th, 2006 09:43 AM

Welcome back Bob. I'm glad to hear you have the India trip lined up. That always helps to ease the return to "regular" life :)

rhkkmk May 18th, 2006 09:51 AM

thanks for the kind comments...i did miss fodors a lot and karen loved having me talk about something else...

we are safe and sound from floods here in our neighborhood....only the bad parts of town had water....that would be cambridge!!!! pay back for poor political actions!!! haha

our youngest daughter however had a foot of water at her new hampshire house....a new pump made quick work of that...furnace stopped but son in law fixed it quickly...

they joined us in europe for 10 days and we really had fun, especially their 14 month old, our youngest grandchild...more on that later...

looking forward to CT GTG this weekend...

i think i read that maybe kathie will venture to CM again....we are thinking of doing the same in a future trip...just want to confirm that it is a terrible place....3rd try...

james....what do you have to tell me about the hyatt...?? need to make my december res quite soon, so if something is bad i want to hear it...thanks..

JamesA May 18th, 2006 12:03 PM

Nothing to worry about ! I heard they were having some work done so checked it out when I was down there, some improvement works being done at the Spa but that will all be finished in a couple of months.
The new Sheraton is supposed to open Nov 1st, but location and beach in my opinion won't top the Hyatt, I've warned the Hyatt staff !
I tried to find out about the shuttle from Bangkok, could not get a deffinative answer either-way, quite bright receptionist suggested if you went into the Hyatt BKK a day or so before and went to the concierge to book seats on the shulle with cash in your hand he very much doubted they would even bother to ask if u were staying at the BKK one ( seems reasonable ! )

Bella_Bluebell May 18th, 2006 02:03 PM

Really looking forward to reading your trip report about your little grandchild's first trip to Europe!

simpsonc510 May 18th, 2006 04:51 PM

Bob
Welcome back!! You were missed, I can assure you. Now things on this board can get back to a more "normal" routine.

I'm anxious to hear about your trip to Europe but maybe you should post on a different forum about that???

Anyway, welcome home. I'm glad you weren't flooded out.

Carol (currently in Tysons Corner and DC convention center for a few days.. Brad too, plus a friend from BKK)

Hi Bob,

Welcome back to you and Karen. Glad to hear that you had a great time. You missed the week-long rain that we had in New England, thankfully! Sorry to hear about your daughter's flooding. Looking forward to hearing your trip report. Catch a breath before India...

Terry

I will actually be in Boston this weekend for meetings but will have to return to the left coast sunday afternoon so will not make your GTG. Will be in Eastern Europe in June before heading back to Asia with Thailand in november. Glad to see rhkkmk back.
