Restaurants you recommend in Beijing

We are arriving a few days early before our tour. What restaurants might be fun and delicious (not necessarily ones the hotels would suggest as tourist traps) Needs to be clean and good. We are staying at RItz-Carlton on Jian Guo.

ALso, what local foods (besides Peking Duck) is good to try there?

You might find some useful ideas in my (very long, but searchable) trip report - just click on my name to find it. There are sections on Beijing (including restaurant info) near the start and near the end.

Enjoy!

For Peking Duck, i would recommend Da Dong Roast Duck restaurant. Da Dong Roast Duck is renowned for being one of the best duck restaurants in the city. Besides Peking Duck, I would also recommend the hand-pulled noodles.

I found Da Dong just kind of average. I love Haidilao Hotpot and san ge guizhouren (three Guizhou people), both spicy, but very delicious.
they are both chains with loads of restaurants all over the city.

Nice ad hotelmountain. That's what i like about dining out in exotic, far off Asia especially: good old Chateau Lafite is always on offer.
