Thanks again for everyone's suggestions...

Just in from Bangkok. On this trip we were in Bangkok 2 times, 3 nights each trip. We had meals at Food Loft at Central Dept. Store (light meal on arrival day), Kinnaree, Baan Khanitha, Gaggan, Indus, and Face.

Kinnaree: It was okay; a lot like Baan Khanitha. We like Baan Khanitha better.
Baan Khanitha: This was the 1st place we ate in Bangkok, 1996. Holds a special place for us.
Gaggan: This was our 3rd time here. Wasn't as good as we remembered before (service was a little off).
Indus: Wow! Nice surprise!! Wonderful food, beautiful dining room. Will return!
Face: Gorgeous, Gorgeous, Gorgeous and fab food too! Will return!

We stayed in two hotels, Muse and Aloft. Would DEFINITELY return to the Aloft. The hotel is modern and fresh. And we love all of the nighttime buzz on Sukhumvit 11.

We're only back a few days and already looking at our 2014 calendar for our next visit!

Kathie, I thought of you! ROS is celebrating it's 30th year. I saw a couple of print ads for parties and celebrations going on.

Indus was wonderful. Whereas Gaggan's food is 'cutting edge' and the restaurant's decor is white/minimalist; Indus' food is Traditional (beautifully presented) and the decor is dark/rich/luxe. The dining room is such that it feels like 2 separate rooms.... but it's one open space... Stone pillars, beautiful tapestries, lots of bronze (metal) ornamentation, candles everywhere, and big picture windows and french doors that view out to a garden. You're dining in a real airy/handsome space. Really makes for special evening.

We ordered Martinis, Chicken Tikka Masala, Tandoori Fish, Spinach/Potatoes, Dal, and Chicken Tikka Basmati Rice, Mango Lassi's.

When we return again to Bangkok, we'll definitely return to Indus and FACE.

The evening we went to FACE, we were reserved for the Lana Thai Restaurant; but due to a special function were seated in the Indian Restaurant. Loved it! We dined off of the Thai menus but sitting in the Indian restaurant was real special. After dinner, the manager (a South African) gave us a tour of the entire complex. What a treat! The Jing Jing Cocktail in the bar is also a nice treat! It's a lot like a Mojito; but uses muddled Sweet Basil... Yummers!

Thanks for the info on Indus. We will have to try Indus our next time in Bangkok.

If you liked FACE (the Thai restaurant is also lovely and atmospheric), you might try their spa. We have gone there many times, and love the little teak houses that are their spa rooms.

Sorry to hear service was a little "off" at Gaggan but then I have never been there without their chief patron Pook!!!
I really like Face, yep it's touristy but I still really like it. Glad you enjoyed it too.

I will have to add Indus to my list.... I never have enough time in BKK!
