Resorts With Private Cabins Instead Of Hotel Rooms?
 

So I may be interested in a trip to Sri Lanka, am looking for resorts that have private cabins near a beach instead of hotel rooms, I am fine with 1 - 3 star ratings because they'd usually be cheaper -- although I doubt it's true -- from what I've been led to believe.

Can you please provide me with any recommendations?

Is there anything near Colombo?

The closest beach area to Colombo is Negombo.

Do they have the types of resorts I'm looking for?

Negombo is just near the airport and what i would describe as a rather low grade beach strip with a string of hotels.

If your looking for something closer to Colombo look at something on the south west coast between Colombo and Galle. Galle is just an hours drive now on the new expressway!

I meant an hours drive from Colombo....

Also there is a new expressway from the airport to Colombo city just opened that brings you to the city in about 15mins.

Wow - the new roads really make a difference in travel times.

Are there any other resorts with private cabins like Palm Paradise Cabanas has?
