Hi,

I'm not sure about the company in question but the one I would suggest is Solukhumbu Treks at
http://www.solutreks.com/
I was in Nepal in 2004 and now i have a very close friend there. His name is Pasang Kaji Sherpa and his family run a very fine trekking company that can attend to any of your needs. I do plan on returning in March 0f 2007 and I'm looking forward to it very much. kaji will take very good care of you and he is quite knowledgable about travel in Nepal and Tibet.
Please feel free to email myself at:
[email protected] in Canada
or Kaji at:
[email protected] in Nepal

Happy Trails!!

I don't know about any of those but a friend of mine just returned from Tibet and she used www.tibetplus.com and booked a personalized tour. She was very pleased with the service, accommodations and thought they were reasonable.

We are now looking at flying into Bangkok from the USA... stay 3 or 4 days then fly to Chengdu and visit the Panda research Center and then take the train from Chengdu to Lhasa and start our trip from there.. for about 17 days.. ending in Katmandu...then fly to Bangkok and then the USA..
We plan to do this around October 17th, 2007 and be back about Novenmber 12 , 2007

Wow, what detail!
I am glad that you will be driving south through the mountains. This is by far the best way, as the approaching mountains are ahead of you, and it will be easy to tell the driver to stop for pictures. It will be chilly in September, but the Monsoon should have left Nepal by the time you get there. One problem to be prepared for is that the rains usually create land slips in the mountains. If the rains were bad, the slips will also be the same. The road clearing is usually faily prompt, but you could find yourselves walking up and around the problem. Just so you are prepared mentally if it should happen to you. Regards
