Reflections hotel in BKK

I just got my new Conde Nast Traveler in the mail today and they have a huge sections on BKK in there. There is this art deco type of hotel called Reflections ( www.reflections-thai.com ) it look sreally cool on their website. Has anyone ever seen it or heard anything about it? we thought about staying a night or two at the end of our trip just for something different. Anyone have an opinion? Thanks, J&A

The reviews on tripadvisor.com are mixed - the word "quirky" comes up more than once - sounds like it would be different though.

Well, I didn't look at the web site before my last post - do they rent by the hour?

Rent by the hour?! They are not that kind of hotel. There are heaps of great reviews on the net and recently here in Australia they had a story on it on Getaway (travel show). We are also staying 3 nights there at the end of our trip!

They are great to deal with.. their restaurant has great reviews, and its a 5 min walk to the Skytrain.

Get in quick to choose your own room!

Craig, that sounds like something orgy would say!

Reeta, I think we will stay there one or two night at the end of the trip. Conde Nast said their favorite room was 407 so we might try to get that one.

Reeta, the rent-by-the-hour comment was a joke - the place just looks tacky to me - to each his or her own

Craig - its ok I knew you said it tongue in cheek.. my post didnt come across the way I said it!

Tacky? Each to their own... I think its quirky, funky and kind of cool... different strokes for different folks.

Everyone I have spoken to and showed the website to loves it! I must be tacky ;-)

Bob I can see how you might think its tacky. We kind of think its "weird" and you have to be weird to have the jobs April and I do so its fits us great! That is after we get our Marriott fix first! I still dont know if we should hug you when we see you for telling us to stay there last year for our honeymoon, or be mad at you since we always compare every other place we stay at to the marriott and its very hard to live up to that standard...... especially since our last vacation was in Branson!

No Bob, that's not the one with the animal heads. The one with the animal heads and other dead animals is the one that I reported on last month...the one I went to and had a walk-through of. Happy Travels!
