Recommended reading about Nepal

Hello all,
Just curious if anyone has some books to recommend about Nepal either nonfiction or fiction just to get some background information for an upcoming trip. I have already read Shopping for Buddhas as was recommended on this board. Thank you!

The Violet Shyness of Their Eyes By Barbara Scot is excellent.

There is a Traveler's Tales for Nepal - I haven't read it, but that series is usually very good.

Into Thin Air--about 1996 Everest disasters, but also about climbers, sherpas and the Mountain itself.

Also, the Rough Guide to Nepal has a 4 page suggested reading list, broken into different areas. I like their taste a lot.

Thank you for all of your information…I'll definitely check out these books. Only 2 more months to go!

I think the Rough Guide would be a really worthwhile investment. They are now one of my standard purchases for any journey I can get them for (Australia based).
