recommended hotels in Thailand
I am going to Thailand/Cambodia for my honeymoon (dec 21- jan 6). Have already booked flights and I am now looking for hotels. After coming back from Angor Wat, we were thinking of heading down to Phuket/Krabi/Koh Pi Pi. I hear Koh Samui is rainy that time of year hence the miss. Can anyone recommend a nice 4-5 star hotel that does not have the resort feel and would be appropriate for honeymoon. A plus would be diving/snorkelling and some sort of spa arrangement. A quaint but romantic 3 star would also be okay. There just seem to be tonnes of options.

Congratulations on your upcoming marriage! I don't know the weather in Koh Samui during that time, but I do know they have several exceptional hotels - with one of the best being "Poppies". My friends have stayed there and we have all stayed at the original "Poppies" in Bali many times. Check out their website. good luck!

We are going to begin and end out trip in Bangkok. We do not need 5 star can you recommend some 3-4 star hotels or guest house that we can get the flavor of the city. Thank you in advance, Margie

We were there in June and stayed at Novotel @ Siam Sq.. right in the city, with food all around...yummy n shopping center just 10 min walk, very safe n to chinatown is just 15 min by cab else take the sky train from point a to z.

I recommend " Bayan Tree " at Phuket is the best place for honeynoon and sure that you can find the best spa in Asia there !!!!!!!

You also have one choice for the best place in Krabi, that is " Dusit Rayavadee Resort " it's praradise on earth

In Bangkok the Tower Inn is around US$28 a night and is basic 3-star, good value.

Agree the Rayvadee in Krabi is great but pricey. Try some of the major hotel sites such as www.planetholiday.com or www.asiatravel.com
