Recommended Elephant Camps (no riding)
 

We are traveling by car Mandalay, Pyin Oo Lwin, Bagan, Inle/Sagar, overnight Napyitaw or Taungoo, then on to Yangon with a visit to Bago on the way. Just wondering if there are other recommended camps for a half-day visit near one of our destinations besides Green Hill Valley. The latter is not really convenient as it requires backtracking from Kalaw or staying overnight in Meiktila (which has little of interest as we passed through this town on our last trip). Thank you.

Check the Government Travel Advisory as Pyin Oo Lwin is off limits due to recent deaths from militant (or Freedom fighter) activity.

Thank you. We're aware of the recent trouble. Our guide lives in Mandalay and will advise us as our travel date gets closer. If you have an 'official' Myanmar source, please let me know. I am only aware of the UK advisory to stay 10K outside POL.
