recommendations for cheaper phone calls

hi everyone, I'm quite a frequent business traveler and do personal travelling occasionally. realised that phone bills has been my highest expense at all time. was wondering if anyone out there have recommendations for cheap services or providers that allow me to save cost and minimise the hassle of changing phone or cards when im in overseas?

It all depends on where you are calling from.

In Thailand you can by a phone card at a 7-11 and make calls for about 7 cents a minute.

You might want to look into www.gizmoproject.com.

if you travel with a laptop, you should look into skype.

thanks for all the replies. am travelling from singapore to all around asia typically, malaysia, vietnam and china. i do travel with laptop, but always have difficulty connecting to the net as the countries broadband service is not that accessible yet. prefer to have a service that allow calls from phone to phone with low cost. moreover, the other party that im calling might not be online most of the time. appreciate if theres recommendations. thanks ;)

With Skype, you can call telephones - although there is a small per/minute charge for it, which varies by country anywhere from $.02 to$.11 is what I've seen. It's free computer-to-computer.

skype only allows pc to pc call.. found a more useful service over the weekend, their call back service was simply great.. allowing caller to trigger a call using either phone or over the web. its a service by globalroam. try searching on web and u'll catch them. else, you can leave me a message. something that i personally think its worth trying.
