Reasonable hotel near BKK airport
Hi there,
We are looking for a reasonably priced (under $100US) hotel near the Bangkok airport. We will be getting in around midnight and will be catching a flight out the next morning, so we want to stay close.
Thanks!
Alanna

i assume that you mean the current airport not the new one maybe opening later this year...??
rama gardens is often used
miracle grand
quality suites
sofitel central, while a bit further away is liked by some
there are a couple more
all would be nearer the $70 range
take a look at www.huahin.20m.com

The term 'reasonably priced' has not the same meaning in Thailand and in Canada, Europa or US.
Thailand has very luxury hotels at the price of 3 star hotel in Europe.
You can find many 3 star hotels in Thailad for 40 $ / double room. For 100 $ you will have room at a very good hotel.
Just look in some internet sites to have a first impression about normal prices in BKK.

The Asia Airport Hotel is about $40 per night and is about 10 minutes from the airport. The rooms are decent and soundproofed. We stayed there when we got to BKK late at night and had a morning flight and it was perfectly fine. It's clean and has a good shower. We even had a balcony, though we didn't use it.

We stayed at the Miracle Grand hotel around 2 weeks ago for 1 night before leaving BKK. It was a very nice hotel with a fantastic room and a nice lobby. Free shuttle service from/to the airport as well, I'd highly recommend it.
I think we got it for around $60 through asiatravel. We used both asiatravel and asiarooms to book our hotels and did not have problems with either of them.

I agree with laurieco. We usually stay at the Asia Airport & on Dec 5 2005 had our 6th stay there, over the past 3 years. Ask for a quiet room on level 16 or 17 and a pool view. The hotel is bland but the free shuttle (they've scrapped the $2 charge) to and from the airport is great. We usually have twin beds as the rooms seem larger than the queen size bedrooms.
You can also store your luggage at the hotel, free, if you're returning to BKK. A good choice if you don't need luxury! Have a great trip!
