Ranthambore - where to stay?

HI,

I'm planning to travel to Ranthombore next month with my family. Any suggestion/advice on where to stay? We are looking for a place that is not luxurious but offers a pleasant stay (warm, good food, and rustic)

Also, I will be traveling from Delhi. Is doing Pushkar enroute a good idea? Any other places to see in Sawai Madhopur other than the Fort?

Thanks,
Garima

We enjoyed Sher Bagh, which bills itself as a "luxury tented camp" but could better be described as "rustic" with a friendly atmosphere and good food.

We also stayed at Sher Bagh and enjoyed it.

Khem Villas has been recommended to me and it does look very comfortable.

At the moment it is top of my list for Ranthambhore accommodation.

You will be looked after well at both Khemvillas & Sherbagh. The tented accommodation is comfortable and goes well with the tiger country. However, the meals at Khem Villas are vegetarian. The cottages afford better views.
Both the properties are expensive. Evening safaris begin at about 2:30pm?? and are a must. The sightings are better in the evenings during the winters. If you wish to do Pushkar, you must start very early for Ranthambhore as it is a good 5-6 hrs drive. It is better done from Jaipur, though.
Very best for your plans!
