Rain travel Myanmar
Hello, I have about ten days in mid September. Am considering Myanmar for a trip but have been advised that Thailand will be a better choice as it rains less ? Is there any truth to that? I'm interested in culture and monuments (not beaches )

Take a look st a good weather site (I like Travel Weather Averages (Weatherbase)) and compare the exact locations you want to visit. In general, Myanmar/Burma has less rain in Sept. than Thailand does, but it does depend on exactly where you want to go.
Note that you will need a visa for Burma. |
Thank you for your reply. The visa on Indian passport is straightforward - evisa works. I'm more looking for any personal experience of folks who have visited in September. There are a few blog posts I came across but they seemed like they had no problems at all so was a bit hard to believe!

Look through the info at climatetemps.com
They will list Rainfall in cms and number of wet days for each city. As best as I can tell, there is a big difference in Myanmar from coastal to inland with inland being drier in September. So if you are mostly visiting the Bagan temples, that will mean more than any generalities I could give you. |
