Quick note from Bangkok

I had to come on and say thanks to Brad and Carol for meeting us the other day and showing us a great time. Still can't believe I drank that shot with snake and scorpion in it. We went to the Grand Palace yesterday via Chao Phraya river taxi. It wasquite busy because it happened to be Coronation Day. It was very difficult to move around the Banglampoo area because of all the people. Even though we expected it, it still got a little overwhelming. 2 ladies forced corn into our hands to feed the birds and then expected money from us, we just left. I guess there are people like that all over the world. We finished our day on Khaosan Road. That was fun. Lots of shops and places to eat, loud music to keep you entertained. I got my hair cut while we there too! I don't intend to report on here, since I do it on Facebook and don't have time to do both, so feel free to add me there and follow along.
Thanks again, Brad and Carol and nice to meet you as well as Bob? (Oral surgeon), Friday, Thai, Maeng and Jack.

Hi!! Good to see your post on here. I was emailing Brad to ask if he had seen you two again. Sounds like you are having a good time. Glad we could help get you off on the right foot in Bangkok!

Shot with snake and scorpion? That must have been after I left Maeng's. I managed to sleep about 4 hours before having to get up and fly home.

Hopefully you will drop by here at fodors and say hello every once in a while. I will want to know where you are! (I don't do facebook)

Before this drops off of page one, did you and Brad exchange email addresses? That way you can stay in touch!

Who's the oral surgeon here, lol?

simpsonc510 May 8th, 2009 06:40 PM

Mango, the oral surgeon is another pool player (not rhkkmk)! I've always said, you meet some mighty interesting people in the pool halls. This guy donates his time to do oral surgeries in Thai prisons. How 'bout that! Just like Jack donates his time to help with med care for the poorer Thais who work along soi 4 and nearby.

Carol, That's nice of them to do that. I'm sure that would be quite an experience. Thanks for that :]
