Gemini, the fact that you don't see your post as nasty makes it even worse.

Hi. Of course not all Thais are corrupt, but exceptionally high prevalence in the business sector.

Again, nasty? Not at all, just being factual.

Thanks for your responses!

Btw, Wonderful gesture to do this for the kids. Are basic science books acceptable?? Can they be mailed?

Ah ha... forget the books I threw out there then. That age difference is important! Maybe Sandra can give us some good suggestions.

And yes, Craig, I like the clique-y-ness here. Getting to personally know a number of the regulars here has made this place feel so much like 'home' and TA seems so much more impersonal now.

Yep... I tend to go in and out of facebook though, hanuman. I get bored with it and stop checking in. I'm always here on fodors though.

That's because with Facebook you are only interacting with your friends and not strangers like here and on TA. It's very good for sharing photos or videos with friends!

Carol and Hanuman:

I check them both on an almost daily basis. But my e-mail IS checked daily. Really enjoy the comaraderie on all of them.

Spell check ~~ should have been commaraderie!

BTW, Carol ~~ don't know about others, but I still enjoy Beatrix Potter's Peter Rabbit ~~ age, what's that?

Counting the days! SEA here we come, but the TX wildfires are getting closer to us (Bastrop is about an hour from us).

I've been seeing those fires on the news. Terrible stuff! When are you leaving for BKK? I can't remember what you told me before.
