Question about BKK safety

Hi, all.
I'm in Cambodia now, heading for BKK tomorrow (for 6 days). Earlier in our trip (while in HK), heard reports of bombings in BKK, but nothing in recent days. What's it like for tourists in BKK now? Any places to avoid, or extra precautions to take?
Appreciate any up to date info.
Thanks.

We left on the 3rd, but were there when the bombings happened. I was probably passed central world on the Skytrain about 10 minutes after the one there, but didn't notice anything.

Found out about the boms while at Face spa, and rode the skytrain back by Central World about 2 hours later, but couldn't see anything even when looking.

Other than a notice in our hotel room, There was really no indication that anything had happened. Fireworks on the river at midnight, and big splashy parties at the Peninsula, Oriental and Shangri-la Hotels were packed all night.

Most shopkeepers and tourist sights were "business as usual" the next three days while we were there.

Thanks for your replies. I suspected that there was more hype than substance to the warnings, but it's nice to have some confirmation.
Looking forward to my stay.

Les,
Coming from Cambodia, Bangkok will seem very safe.
