Question about Beijing
We were in China just a few weeks ago and I'm presently working on my travel page. I'm trying to find the name of a particular night food market in Beijing which we visited and maybe somebody here can help me.
This food market had a long line of food stalls along one street which is perpindicular to the eastern end of the Wangfujing shopping street. Can anybody help? |
I believe it's called the "Donganmen Night Market" which one entrance is near the Xindongan Mall on Wangfujing
Aloha! |
should have read "Dong hua men"
sorry |
Sorry I'm confused, since Wangfujing Avenue runs north to south direction, where is the eastern end? Although "dong" means east ...
|
shanghai,
The hutong runs parallel to Wangfujing on the east side. |
it is called ``Donghuamen``
|
East, west, north or south, it doesn't really matter. I've checked the web and found out that this market is indeed parallel to and east of Wangfujing. I believe we walked through a shopping mall in the easterly direction and then found the night market and that's why I remember it being in the easterly direction.
Here's a link to an entertaining description of this market: http://tinyurl.com/2gbwgf Thanks for the assistance. |
Got it, thanks to all.

Hi Steve,
Review of the market was entertaining! What an adventurous "foodie" he was. Leslie |
We saw all the delicacies described in the article, but the only thing we ate was fruit which was also on a skewer.
