Treasure Junk Halong/Bai Tu Long bay crusie?
Has anyone taken a cruise with Treasure Junk? Their boat is relatively new and was recommended to us by Indochina Junk, whose Dragon Junk boat is completely booked for the time when we want to go.
They are very "travel/environmentally conscious" and do not visit caves for that reason, although I'm not sure what the damage to caves is from visiting them, unless its just from general foot traffic. In any case....
We're wondering if the Treasure Junk itinerary is good enough, or if we should pay the extra $350 and do the AuCo cruise. Don't really need the luxury of the AuCo, but the itinerary sounds great.
Thanks for any insights!

Stephanie,
Let check the Paloma Cruise for 3d2n which is very similar cruise itinerary of Indochina Junk which cover Bai Tu Long Bay area. I don't think you miss anything in Halong Bay with this cruise. You may also want to have a look at anewly launched Pelican Cruise.
Another opt which is more deluxe are: Indochina Sails, Ginger or Jasmine Cruise. Pls note that these cruise will do normal cruise route in Western Part of Halong and if you do 02 nights on board they will arrange you a day cruise to other part of Halong near Catba island which is call "Lan Ha" bay, this is popular swimming & kayaking area for people who do 3 days tours in Halong.
Hope this info help to narrow in which cruise and budget you can book for your trip to Halong Bay.
Regards!

Thank you, Hai!
Your post was very informative and has kept us busy researching these companies. I thought we had it down to the AuCo vs. Treasure Junk, but not now.
It is very confusing getting information about these cruises. Would it be better for us to enlist the help/advice of a local travel agent, or try to decide on our own?
Ideally, we want this:
A 2-night cruise that incorporates the lesser-traveled areas in BaiTuLong Bay,
Kayaking
Fishing village visit
Visit to a cave
possibly CatBa island, because we've heard its beautiful, but if too "touristy," then we don't need it.
Thanks again for any more help. We're really struggling to figure this out!
