Public washrooms in HK / Sing ? KL ??

Are public washrooms in these 3 cities easy enough to locate. If not, then what's the next best thing - hotels ? Cafes ?

There are some public washrooms in Hong Kong. And since SARS of 2003, all of them have been kept cleaner than before - all are regular cleaned by attendants these days. However, toilet paper is still a hit-and-miss. But when in HK, do what HKers do - which is always carry some paper tissues with you. You can buy them everywhere, and many newspaper stands and convenient stores give a pack to you for free with any purchase anyways. Very important to have in Hong Kong, as many cheaper eateries don't even provide napkins.

But the best places to "go" is at shopping malls, or department stores. They are plenty of them around, and you don't have to give a tip. Hotels have the cleanest bathrooms, but at least in the 4-5* ones, you'll need to tip the attendant. He/she will turn the water tap for you, and hand you a towel. Unless you don't wash your hands it'd be awkward not to tip.

McDonald's is another good choice, but I'd avoid most other eateries'. They are usually very tiny, and you'll have to walk through the whole place to get to them.

I always walk into the nearest decent hotel, easy. If not go into a nice a/con cafe/coffee shop, order a Cola or Coffee and use the facilities.

This is the second post today on bathrooms in Asia. Try for location and comments on bathrooms in Hong Kong.

I agree that 5 star hotels are a good choice. The Mandarin is well located for shopping and some sightseeing. Bathrooms are upstairs from the lobby, go through the lounge serving tea. On the Kowloon side, try the Penninsula or the Intercontinental. As noted in, for a real experience, try the bathrooms at Felix on top of the Penn. . . .

In Singapore you won't find napkins either at a lot of the food court types places- strange! Everyone brings their own little packs of tissues.

It's much the same in KL. The best washrooms are in the hotels. You can also find public washrooms in the shopping malls (of varying cleanliness). McDonalds is also an alternative.

The are washrooms everywhere in Singapore - restaurants, malls, shopping centers, hotels, and some public ones too. Do carry some tissue with you - sometimes there is no toilet paper in the washrooms.

All of the above:

And it goes without saying that you carry loo paper with you at all times! together with that water bottle and sunscreen.
