Problems posting?

Is anyone else having a problem posting?

hawaiiantraveler Apr 2nd, 2008 02:18 PM

Aloha laurieco!

No problems here but I was having problems logging on earlier in the week. Off to Taz soon???

Aloha!

Hey HT, hopefully we'll be in Oz in November. I've bought a guide book since we haven't been there in almost 10 years! Things have changed a bit I'm sure. I'm trying to figure out a short (one week) trip for this Spring just to get away. We haven't had a vacation since we saw you in Tokyo!!!

I'm trying to post a reply to AskOksana's Part 2 but it's not going through. I've tried at least 5 times but nothing. They'll probably all show up later, 5 of the same post, just to embarrass me.

Like HT, I had log-in problems earlier this week, but no posting problems so far. I expect your posts were rejected due to content. ;-)

I was thinking of you yesterday and wondering if you'd fallen off the edge of the earth. I almost e-mailed you. Happy Travels!

Hi, no, I haven't fallen off the end of the earth, at least not yet. I just haven't been logging onto Fodors too much. I did hang out in the Lounge for a bit but some of those people are truly nuts! I decided to keep away from that part of Fodors for a while. Some of those people were so crazy that if I kept reading, I was afraid I might vote republican in November ;-)

Guen, I've been thinking of you a lot. I use that canvass bag you sent me when I do my grocery shopping so I think of you every time I shop!

I may be spending some time on the Australia forum since I plan on going there in the Autumn. As HT noted, we'll be spending a good amount of time in Tasmania to see if we really do want to move there. I got a shock today though when I saw that the US dollar only buys A1.09. Yikes! Last time I was there, it was about A1.50.

Now now Kathie, I wasn't going to post anything nasty! I just wanted to clarify a few things about the Pen. I cannot figure out why they didn't go through. Maybe I'll try today....if I can remember what I wanted to say!

Kathie Apr 3rd, 2008 02:42 PM

Laurie, have a great time in Tasmania!

laurieco Apr 3rd, 2008 02:51 PM

Kathie, we won't be going to Oz until about November! Any suggestions for a short (one week) trip this Spring that won't cost an arm and leg? I wanted to go back to Vienna but with the dollar tanking against the euro, I think that's out.

Kathie Apr 3rd, 2008 04:01 PM

The dollar really is a problem these days. Even our favorite Asian destinations are much more expensive this year than last. We took a short trip to Hawaii a month ago - lovely getaway and we didn't have to worry about the strength of the dollar. We're still working on our Oct/Nov destinations. We fly into Bangkok, but where next is unclear. The current leading contender is Nepal.

hawaiiantraveler Apr 3rd, 2008 04:15 PM

Kathie, might be the perfect time for Koyo season in Japan and particularly Kyoto at around that time of year :)

Aloha!

Kathie Apr 3rd, 2008 05:18 PM

HT, we plan to do that one of these years. However, we already have tickets in and out of Bangkok. We have to plan that one farther ahead of time.

laurieco Apr 4th, 2008 05:43 AM

HT, the dollar has really tanked against the Yen since last year. How are you and Linda going to manage all of your shopping???

hawaiiantraveler Apr 4th, 2008 09:47 AM

hahahaha.....Linda will manage just fine, never have to worry about her shopping prowess ;)

I just have to make more money when we return......aren't we lucky we live in the land of opportunity

Aloha!

laurieco -- Come to northern California for a week, the weather is always nice, doesn't cost an arm/leg, and there is so much to do including eating!

i was also going to suggest an american week....how about nantucket, or temecula, CA, or pasadena, or a lux hotel in the mountains or shore (bar harbor, dixville notch, vermont, greenbriar, etc....
