Private guided tour of Angkor Wat??

My husband and I are wanting to have a private guide/ driver take us to the temples of Angkor Wat in February. We are planning to just spend one day there as we are not keen on highly populated tourist destinations but feel this is important to experience. Any suggestions for a company or private guide?

Your hotel can set you up with a car and driver (and guide, if you wish), no need to book this ahead of time. Note that the driver and the guide are always separate people.

Also, carefully consider your level of interest in the temples. If you are really interested in the temples, you will be frustrated by one day in Siem Reap. Do get a copy of Dawn Rooney's book, Angkor: A Guide to Cambodia's Wondrous Temples. It is still possible to visit temples that are not packed with people, you just gave to get away from the large circuit and the small circuit. There are many dozens of accessible temples, and while there may be some crowded ones you can't skip, maybe Bayon, for instance, there are plenty of others with few visitors.

should be "you just have to get away..."
