Private Guide

Travelling to Hoi An in Feb 2024, looking for a tour guide for a day to show us the Non Touristy things, I have noticed that a lot are getting very expensive now. So deciding whether to find our own way or hire a guide for the day. Any recommendations greatly appreciated. Thanks :)

Which "non-touristy" ? Hoi An IS touristy, you cannot escape it considering that, apart Marble Mountain, closer to Danang than HA, and My Son 50 km away, there is nothing interesting around. !

You don't really need a guide for Hoi An Old town. It is easily walkable (apart from the massive crowds). You can gain most of the info from a good guidebook. If you do feel that guide would add something to your experience then I would ask your accommodation. My Son is a nice half day trip for the Cham ruins . Again, a guide is not necessary - we just hired a taxi to take us there and stopped at a few other places on the way back to Hoi An. Another nice day out is to borrow a bile and cycle out into the countryside. That is something where an organised tour may add some value. Again ask you accommodation. They may add a commission on top but they have a vested interest in choosing a good operator.

Watch 2-3 vlog and you will become a guide... you don't need a guide for Hoi An.

If you insist on a guide, your hotel will call one with no problem
